Celebrating a Decade of Free2B: 10 Years of Impact
As Free2B marks its 10th birthday, we’re celebrating a decade of creating safe, joyful spaces for LGBTQ+ young people and their families.
While LGBTQ+ young people continue to face significant challenges, Free2B provides a lifeline of safe spaces where young people can connect, grow and thrive. Through 1:1 support, group sessions and school forums, we’ve built a community where people can feel proud of who they are.

Over the past 10 years, Free2B has delivered:
- 1,050+ youth group sessions
- 450+ school safe-space forums
- 6,500+ hours of 1:1 support
- 150+ sessions for Proud Parents
- Training for 2,100+ professionals
One young person told us: “I’ve made two new close friends who have helped me feel more comfortable in my identity. The groups have helped me access a more healthy mindset.”
Another said: “Me and my parents have been accessing Free2B’s services since I was 12 and they have provided me with immeasurable support, I truly wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for their help.”
The difference Free2B makes is clear. Our latest feedback shows:
- 100% of young people report increased personal resilience.
- 82% say Free2B’s spaces provide a safe and inclusive environment.
- All parents who take part in our sessions say they now feel part of a supportive community.
As Leo, our Chief Operating Officer, explains: “What makes Free2B special is the queer joy we create together. Whether it’s through pride celebrations, our LGBTQ+ prom, or just being in a room with others who get you, the joy we see in our groups is powerful and transformative.”

To celebrate our 10th anniversary, we’re aiming to raise £10,000 by June 2026 so we can continue offering these lifelines for the next decade and beyond. With your support, we can build a future where all LGBTQ+ young people feel free to be themselves.
