For the past 10 years, Free2B has been a lifeline for LGBTQ+ youth and their parents. Today, many LGBTQ+ young people face growing challenges and discrimination. Your support is crucial to help us continue offering the safe spaces and inclusive community that every young person deserves.
By supporting us, you ensure we can keep running our youth clubs, one-to-one mentoring, parent support groups, and school forums that make a real difference.
We value transparency and efficiency so approximately 75% of our funding goes directly into service delivery. In other words, we keep our running costs low (around 25% for essential overheads), so your donations are spent where it matters most, on the young people and families we support. Top charities aim to keep administrative costs below 30%, so we are within sector benchmarks.
“What I love about Free2B is the care and consistency they offer. They stand beside young people with genuine support and kindness, creating a safe space where they can be themselves as they navigate life and grow up. I give every month so Free2B can keep being there.“
— Aaron, Free2B Donor
“To me, it is money we l spent if, through Free2B, only one person can see how marvellous it is to be who they are and what they are. And because there are, in fact, many who have that knowledge because of Free2B, I see my giving as exceptionally good value.”
— Emrys, Free2B Donor
“When I was a teenager, I started to realise that I was not quite the same as my classmates. I wish then that there had been an organisation like Free2B to help me through the issues I faced.”
— Free2B Donor
“Free2B have helped our family navigate the challenges and embrace the joys of my child’s transition. As they move into adulthood with confidence, I wanted to give something back to this wonderful organisation, who have helped us so much.”
— Free2B Fundraiser
“I choose to give a regular donation to Free2B because it means I’m making a difference. We all know that things can be tough for LGBT+ young people right now, but this way I know that each month I’m playing my part in supporting an amazing organisation working to make things better.“
— Nick, Free2B Donor
“Rainbow Lottery is a great way to support Free2B and all the amazing work they do. So it happens, I have won £250 two times“
— Alexis, Free2B Supporter via Rainbow Lottery
“I’m proud to regularly donate to Free2B Alliance. I know every penny goes direct to supporting some of our most vulnerable and marginalised young people from the LGBTQIA+ community. I’ve seen first hand how much the young people benefit from the support Free2B provides. The money they raise from my donations funds safe spaces where young people are free to be themselves, where they feel they belong with trusted staff that provide much needed care for them in a world that is increasingly becoming more hostile towards them. It is so, so satisfying to be able to give to a local organisation that gives so much to help LGBTQIA+ youth thrive.”
— Mark, Free2B Donor
PBE have released a report evaluating our one-to-one service Free2Talk, which evidences a significant boost in wellbeing and estimates £4 of benefit for every £1 spent on Free2Talk.
“Me and my parents have been accessing Free2B’s services since I was 12 and they have provided me with immeasurable support. I truly wouldn’t be here today, nor would I have the amazing support network that I do, without their continued hard work and dedication.”
— Free2B Youth Member
“From attending Free2B services, I have gained so much over the past few years. When I first joined Gap, I was very shy and quiet and didn’t get out of my shell very much. The staff encouraged me to join in with the activities and through that I began to connect with other people and form lasting friendships.”
— Free2B Youth Member
“Free2B has supported me for over five years – I went from barely being able to hold a conversation with anyone except my mum, to being the most confident outgoing person. They gave me all the resources I’ve needed to bloom into the person I am today and now I’m lucky enough to be in the position to use what I’ve learn to support and help others!”
— Free2B Youth Member
“Through Free2B support, my parents have become more understanding in helping me explore my sexuality and with understanding how I feel about my gender. I never imagined it would be possible, but now it is. Without Free2B, none of this would have been possible and I am extremely grateful for their help.”
— Free2B Youth Member
“It’s a safe environment that we can talk openly about our worries and fears! We can exchange experiences with others parents! Brilliant service! I always felt supported and heard!”
— Proud Parent
“I’ve made two new close friends who have helped me feel more comfortable in my identity. The groups have helped me access a more healthy mindset.”
— Free2B Youth Member
“It’s so helpful to know I’m not alone in trying to understand and support my child through their experience. I didn’t know where to turn when my child explained who they were and the support and knowledge gained through Proud Parents has been invaluable.”
— Proud Parent
“I can honestly say it’s saved our family. I will always be grateful to this fantastic group.”
