people who have periods

Periods can cause a great deal of distress and dysphoria for trans masc people. Below are some ways to help manage periods.

Hormone based contraceptives can help reduce the impact of periods (reducing flow and cramping) or indeed stop them occurring. For example the contractive pill, the Depo-Provera injection, or the Mirena coil can be used by trans masc people.

You can discuss FREE contraception options with your GP or local sexual health clinic. The 160 Falcon Road clinic is local to Free2B and we know that their young people’s clinic is trans inclusive.

Periods products

It can add to feelings of distress and dysphoria that most period products are unfortunately labelled for ‘women’ / female hygiene products.

Superdrug has launched a vegan range of period products called Luna which is advertised as for “people who have periods.”
